A Mother’s Grin

Mommy's smile

One of my close buddys called me the other day to let me know that his mom is sick.  Seriously sick.  It was perculiar because I see her nearly every day and she always have a smile on her face like if everything is good and can’t get better.  So I mentioned this to him and he concurred.

Seriously, the mothers in my life, my own, my friends, even my enemies, all seem to have this carefree look upon their faces.  Like everything is alright.  And this is a characteristic that has been burned into our minds from birth, mommy always smiles when she looks at us, or when she sees us.  Its once in a blue moon that I’ll actually find my mom in a hurtfull state but thats something that I can visually see and feel thats she upset or in pain.  I know mothers have mastered the art of hiding things well, and its something thats appreciated not fronged upon, but I really would like to be on the up & up when it comes to my mothers health.  Be it that she can take a bullet and smile at it, I still need to know if she’s not feeling good or it hurts like heck.

Unfortunatly its one of those Guyanese mothers thing that I’ll fall prey to.  She will never tell me how she feels and will always put a smile on her face like the day is just peachy.  I’ve learned that I have to go behind her back to find out tthe real situation when it comes to her health because my mother will sugar coat a funeral if not careful.

But my prayers goes out to my friend’s mom (he knows why I can’t mention his name) and their family.  I pray that God bring her through this like he has brought us out of harms way a thousand times before.  Be strong and trust that everything will be fine and it will be just so.

Vovv, Vhat a Vacation!

August 27th, 2007

The week of our birthdays (August 20th, 2007- for those of you that didn’t call or wish us [we both have the same birthday] a very happy birthday, we decided to take a road rip and enjoy ourselves if it killed us.

So we hit the road from New York, taking what we wanted to take and turning off all cell phones and attachments to our daily lives.  Only to turn them on when we need to make a call.  First person I called was this crazy ass dude name Chuchu to tell him we’re on the road and his reply was “Me too.”  So he meet up with us at rest stop in Maryland.

Chu in Maryland New York chapter

Since we’re in Maryland we decided to stop by the one of the coolest Original G’s around, my man and main buddy, Will.  He was home chillin when I raided his house.  Played some Wii and rested a bit.  I was happy to see him, its one of those rare moments that you sit back and think that we should be seeing each other a little more often but because of the space it kinda stops that thought.  But Jo and I was glad we made ths stop.

Fom Will’s we journied on a 17 hour quest to Florida to enjoy our vacation.  Most of which could be viewed by checking out our Vaction 2007 Gallery.  Please feel free to leave any comments on what you think.

Returning the Infiniti Lease

August 15th, 2007

Its that time to return my 06 lease and get my hands on another sports car that I’ve been longing to drive.  While the G35 left little to room room for me to anticipate getting into another car, it will be a serious battle to contend against it.  Seriously what could possibly compeit with this.

2006 G35; Free's baby

My next vision is to sit comfortably in a coupe, don’t know what make or model yet, and be assured that I’m untouched when it comes to everyday performance.  I have the BMW M series lined up as 1st pick, the Audi A4 as 2nd pick, and the Infiniti G37 as 3rd pick.

I’ve nearly driven all production models of nearly every make, putting aside those plush luxury autos thats over 6 figures.  I’m not mad enough for that,…… yet.    For now though, until I’ve made up my mind, I’ll sit on my bike and use Jo’s car as much as I can…..hehehehe, and pocket those monthly lease payments until 2008.  Then we’ll see whats good.  But Adios G35.  Its been great.

2007 Sickle Cell Ohio Run

August 1st, 2007

Mommy and Pat

The feeling of love and happiness surrounds you at 2007 Sickle Cell Ohio Run with the Cruz and Montalvo familes.  We had a blast, nothing but fun and games, with the business aspect attached to you by the hips.  Jo and I, so totally enjoyed ourselves and will drop everything or re-arrange our shedule if we have to to make the 2008 run.

This year was an excellent adventure into Ohio. We spent the weekend very well organized.  We were mostly active and on time and the run went pretty well.  We spent the entire time with Pete and Debbie, with their family.  We also had our  friends there, Beast, Ant, and Lady Q.  All in all it was an excellent 3 day getaway.  Check out these photos At Supreme Gallery.
